Position Details

Department: ICE | NRSL Respiratory Therapy IP C

Summary of Job Duties: This requisition will be used to fill multiple positions. New Graduates are welcome to apply!

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) works under physician direction and supervision of the Respiratory Care Clinical Team Manager. The RRT provides quality patient care, promotes a healthy work environment, and projects a positive image for UAMS Medical Center.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care by date of hire.
  • Arkansas Licensed Respiratory Therapy Practitioner (LRCP) by date of hire.
  • Must pass NBRC RRT Credentialing Examination by date of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Care
  • Experience as a UAMS Respiratory Care Intern
  • ACLS, NRP, BLS certifications
Additional Information

Sign-on Bonus: $10,000 available

Responsibilities
  • Performs routine respiratory care procedures such as updrafts, MDIs, CPT, ABGs, incentive spirometry, IPV, patient education, and ventilator management.
  • Assists in codes and rapid responses.
  • Documents patient treatment notes in the e-chart system and/or patient charts.
  • Moves equipment and supplies into work areas as needed.
  • Provides professional and friendly interactions with patients and staff.
  • Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates effective communication.
  • Builds positive relationships with colleagues and adheres to care and conduct guidelines.
  • Provides excellent customer service to stakeholders.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, use of hands, talking, and visual acuity.
  • Occasional sitting, bending, lifting over 100 lbs, and handling hazardous materials.
  • Inside medical facility environment with moderate noise level.
  • Must be fitted for PPE including N95 masks and PAPR/CAPR equipment.
Salary and Application Details

Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Required documents: License or Certificate, three professional references, resume.

Optional: Proof of Veteran Status.
