Sweetwater Care is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to independently perform respiratory care procedures, interpret orders and evaluate resident responses in a skilled nursing/home care environment.

The role requires CRT/RRT credentials, current BLS, and ventilator unit experience; LTC or SNF experience is preferred. Strong communication with residents, families and staff is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) active license.
• Current BLS required; ACLS preferred.
• Finger Print Card Clearance; TB test within the last year; Physical within the last 6 months; COVID card.
• Ventilator unit experience required; LTC/SN experience preferred.
• Effective communication skills to maintain positive relationships with residents, families, staff, physicians, and agencies; knowledge of local, state and federal guidelines.

Responsabilités

• Promotes healing of acutely ill residents through respiratory care, diagnostics and resident education.
• Provides safe administration of respiratory care including intermittent/continuous therapy, mechanical ventilation, airway management and monitoring.
• Sets up and administers medical gases, humidification, aerosols, medications and ventilatory support as they relate to the home environment.
• Oversees rehab department management including case management, quality improvement and care planning.
• Manages reimbursement, billing, and resident/equipment records; ensures clinical documentation is complete.
• Collaborates with nursing leadership to integrate respiratory care into daily practice and trains staff.
• Assesses, plans and evaluates respiratory therapy care and life support for residents; supports efficient operations.
• Coordinates equipment orders and documentation with physicians, residents, families and care teams.
• Communicates changes in resident condition and adjusts care plans as needed.
• Develops discharge plans and tracks preventive maintenance for respiratory equipment.
• Addresses developmental needs across the lifespan and adapts care accordingly.
• Provides general medical equipment and supplies as ordered by physicians.
