Job summary

Sun Communities, Inc. seeks a Resort Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventive maintenance at Sun’s resort properties. Responsibilities include building repairs, cleaning, grounds upkeep, and guest safety.

The role requires outdoor work, operation of tools and equipment, and collaboration with the resort team to ensure timely guest arrivals and departures. Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma or GED, basic computer skills, and the ability to lift 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months maintenance experience in campground or RV resort preferred.
• General maintenance knowledge with repair experience.
• Outdoor work during seasonal temperatures.
• Basic janitorial, plumbing, and grounds maintenance knowledge.
• Proficient with hand tools, power equipment, and machinery.
• Ability to provide legible written reports.
• Ability to work well independently or in a team.
• Must lift at least 50 pounds.
• Basic computer use including email and internet.
• On-call availability for resort needs outside business hours.

Responsibilities

• Empty trash and perform maintenance using tools.
• Complete minor repairs to rental units and facilities.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor emergency repairs (plumbing, sewage, construction).
• Inspect irrigation systems and repair as needed.
• Inspect playground, pool, and recreational areas for safety and repair.
• Maintain curb appeal and grounds, including weed control and trimming.
• Ensure resort cleanliness and hazard-free streets.
• Operate lawn care tasks and manage trash/debris daily.
• Maintain resort pool and vehicles; test chemicals where applicable.
• Assist Resort Manager with supervision of service contractors.
