Job summary

Sun Outdoors in Jacksonville, FL is seeking Resort Maintenance Technicians to perform routine and preventative maintenance on resort facilities, grounds, and utilities, ensuring guest and resident satisfaction and timely arrivals and departures.

Duties include building repairs, grounds upkeep, irrigation, pool maintenance, and on-call response; requires High School Diploma or GED and outdoor work readiness.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• 6 months in previous maintenance experience in a campground or RV resort (Preferred)
• Demonstrated knowledge of and broad experience in general maintenance techniques and repair work
• Ability to endure seasonal temperatures as working conditions require constant outdoor work
• General knowledge of janitorial work, plumbing, and grounds maintenance
• Proficient skills in operating various hand tools, power equipment, and commercial machinery
• Ability to provide legible written reports
• Ability to work well independently as well as on a team
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
• Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use email and internet
• Availability to respond to resort needs during non-business hours while on-call

Responsibilities

• Empty trash, shovel, perform maintenance or repair duties, use power equipment, drills or other hand tools (Essential)
• Completes minor repairs to rental units and facilities as needed (Essential)
• Completes routine maintenance and minor emergency repairs, plumbing, sewage, construction & street repair (Essential)
• Inspects irrigation system regularly to ensure it is working properly, repairs as necessary (Essential)
• Inspects playground area and equipment, pool/spa area, and other recreational amenities to ensure everything is in good condition, making minor repairs as needed (Essential)
• Maintains resort pool(s), tests chemical levels, and adjusts appropriately, where applicable
• Maintains resort vehicles and equipment
