Job summary

Sun Communities is seeking a dedicated Groundskeeper to maintain community appearance and safety across our properties. You will conduct lawn care, irrigation checks, debris removal, and occasional pool maintenance, ensuring curb appeal and resident satisfaction.

The role requires outdoor work, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to respond after hours. Join a team focused on quality service, safety, and reliable facility operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months groundskeeping experience (apartment/manufactured housing preferred).
• 6 months knowledge of general grounds maintenance techniques.
• Ability to endure outdoor temperature fluctuations.
• Must be able to respond after hours and on-call.
• Basic computer proficiency including email and internet.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to work independently as well as on a team.
• Proficient with hand tools, power equipment and commercial machinery.

Responsibilities

• Ensure community is presentable at all times and adheres to standards.
• Maintain community vehicle and equipment.
• P pickup trash/debris from common areas daily and empty trash as needed.
• Inspect irrigation system regularly and repair as needed.
• Treat weeds, rake leaves, plant flowers/shrubs, spread mulch, trim shrubs and trees.
• May maintain community pool(s) by testing chemicals.
• Follow safety procedures while performing duties.
• Report maintenance issues to the manager.
• Driving is an essential function to perform duties across property.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
