CSG Consultants, Inc. located in Newman, CA is seeking an Associate Plan Check Engineer to perform technical review of construction documents for residential and multi-family projects, ensuring compliance with the California Building Standards Codes.

The role requires 3+ years of plan review experience, a Bachelor's in engineering, and an Engineer-in-Training certification, with proficiency in Bluebeam, Office, Teams, and Zoom. Travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years reviewing plans for conformance to the California Building Standards Codes and Referenced Standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Certification as Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is required.
• Knowledge of engineering principles as applied to building design and construction.
• ICC Building, Electrical, Mechanical, or Plumbing Plans Examiner Certification, or CASp Certification, as required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam & Bluebeam Studios, Teams, Zoom.

Responsibilities

• Technical review of construction documents related to residential and multi-family construction.
• Review drawings, calculations, soils reports and other documents for conformance with California Building Standards Codes and Referenced Standards.
• Use engineering judgment to assess the adequacy of a design to address life-safety and other code aspects.
• Read and interpret maps, construction diagrams, electronic plans, and specifications for code compliance.
• Coordinate design discipline coordination, plan development and write correction notices.
• Prepare and present effective oral and written reports.
• Maintain relationships with government agencies, architects, contractors, engineers, and the public.
