Job summary

CSG Consultants, Inc. is seeking an Associate Plan Check Engineer to review construction documents for residential and multi-family projects to ensure compliance with California Building Standards Codes and Reference Standards.

The role requires engineering judgment to assess life-safety and code adequacy, with the ability to read maps, drawings, and specifications and advise on corrections. Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of plan review experience, a Bachelor's degree in engineering, and

Qualifications

• 3+ years reviewing plans for conformance to CA Building Standards Codes and Referenced Standards.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
• EIT certification required.
• ICC or CASp certifications, or equivalent, as required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Review construction documents for residential and multi-family projects for conformance with California Building Standards Codes and referenced standards.
• Use engineering judgment to assess design adequacy for life-safety and code compliance.
• Read and interpret maps, drawings, and specifications and evaluate compliance with codes and ordinances.
• Prepare and present oral and written plan check findings and correction notices.
