Job summary

Southern Home Services seeks a Service Electrician/Generator Technician to install, maintain, and repair electrical and generator systems for residential customers. You will troubleshoot issues, service generators, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Strong communication and problem-solving are essential as you interact with clients and coworkers. The role requires 2+ years in a similar capacity, a Generac certification, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks including

Qualifications

• Generac certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years in a similar role.
• Experience with generator systems.
• Electrical and hydraulic systems knowledge.
• Maintenance procedures and techniques.
• Overtime availability including weekends.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Well-organized with strong prioritization.

Responsibilities

• Understand electricity, electrical systems, motor control, and instrumentation.
• Perform maintenance, service, and repairs across plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, and electrical systems.
• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring and equipment.
• Perform light maintenance on electrical systems, plumbing, and HVAC/R units.
• Support repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment (hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, mechanical).
• Inspect electrical systems and components for hazards and safety compliance.
• Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions, especially in lighting circuits.
• Additional duties as assigned.
