Job summary

Southern Home Services is seeking a Service Electrician/ Generator Technician to manage electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs for residential systems and generator services. In this role, you will troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues, install and service generator systems, and ensure all work adheres to safety standards and codes.

You will interact with customers to diagnose problems, recommend solutions, and provide high-quality service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 2 years in a similar role.
• Experience with generator systems.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Strong maintenance procedures knowledge.
• Physical ability for overtime including weekends/holidays.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Well-organized with strong task prioritization.

Responsibilities

• Understand and work with electricity, electrical systems, motor control systems, and process control instrumentation.
• Perform maintenance, service, and repairs across plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, and electrical systems.
• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring and equipment to ensure proper function and safety.
• Perform light maintenance tasks on electrical systems, plumbing, and HVAC/R units.
• Support repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment including hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Inspect electrical systems and components to identify hazards or defects and ensure safety standards compliance.
• Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions, particularly in lighting circuits.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
