Job summary

Monarch in Cornelius, NC is seeking a Developmental Specialist to support individuals in a part-time residential program on every other weekend. The role focuses on helping people pursue personal goals, build community connections, and participate in daily living activities.

You will document progress, assist with safety and advocacy, and collaborate with staff to implement person-centered plans. A High School Diploma and a valid driver's license are required; prior experience with mental health

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (Required)
• Valid Driver's License (USA)
• Experience with individuals having mental health diagnoses or developmental disabilities or substance use disorders (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Assess each person’s hopes and goals and provide supports to achieve them.
• Help individuals develop relationships in their community and with natural supports.
• Assist with participation in the community aligning with the person’s interests.
• Protect and promote the rights of individuals and support advocacy efforts.
• Provide emotional, physical, and medical support as needed.
• Foster person-centered, positive relationships and self-determination.
• Contribute to assessment and planning processes and implement the person’s plan.
• Complete required documentation and progress notes for goals and outcomes.
• Assist with daily home operations: chores, meals, laundry, shopping, maintenance.
• Provide transportation as required and travel as needed.
• Support safety procedures and emergency knowledge and drills.
• Mentor and train new or current staff as required.
• Sleepover in residential settings may be required.
• Attend meetings/trainings and maintain certifications.
