Job summary

Monarch Healthcare in Wadesboro, NC is seeking a Developmental Specialist to support individuals with developmental disabilities or mental health needs. This full-time role covers Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm, offering meaningful person-centered supports and community engagement.

You will assess goals, promote independence, assist with daily living tasks, and maintain accurate progress notes and plan documentation, with sleepover duties possible.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (Required).
• Valid Driver's License (USA).
• Experience working with individuals with mental health diagnoses, ID, or SUD (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assess each person for hopes, dreams, and desires and provide supports to achieve them.
• Support people in developing relationships in their community and with natural supports.
• Assist with participation in the community aligned with the person’s interests.
• Protect and promote the rights of each person receiving services and assist with advocacy.
• Provide emotional, physical, and medical support as needed.
• Foster person-centered relationships using positive approaches that promote self-determination.
• Input into assessment and planning, and help develop the individual’s plan.
• Implement the plan and document goals, actions, and outcomes; complete required forms.
• Complete daily progress notes and communication logs; ensure appointments and goals are met.
• Assist with home operations: housekeeping, meals, laundry, shopping, lawn care, vehicle upkeep.
• Drive and arrange transportation as required.
• Educate on emergency procedures and safety; conduct drills and inspections.
• Mentor new or current staff; participate in meetings and training; maintain certifications.
• Follow all policies and service definitions; perform other duties as assigned.
