Job summary

BAMSI is hiring a Residential Counselor MAP in Walpole, MA. The role provides rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments, teaching daily living skills and helping residents integrate into the community. The schedule is overnight, non-exempt, with a strong focus on trauma-informed care.

Qualify with MAP certification, high school diploma, and a valid driver's license. Training and advancement opportunities are available, with competitive benefits and holiday time.

Responsibilities

• Provide rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments, fostering skills for daily living and community integration.
• Teach ADLs (cooking, budgeting, medication management) and socialization skills.
• Implement treatment plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance.
• Administer/supervise medications per MAP guidelines and document care.
• Transport residents to appointments and community activities.
• Advocate for residents’ needs and model healthy coping strategies.
• Maintain a safe, clean home environment and complete timely documentation.

What You’ll Do:

What You Bring:

• High school diploma/GED; mental health experience preferred.
• MAP (Medication Administration Program) certification is required for this position. Candidates without current certification must be willing to complete employer-provided training and successfully obtain certification within 3 months
• Valid driver’s license and ability to assist with mobility (bending, standing, etc.).
• Strong communication skills (English) and basic computer proficiency.
• Compassion, patience, and a commitment to trauma-informed care.
• Bonus : Lived experience or multilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese).
