Job summary

BAMSI is seeking a Residential Counselor to provide rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments (GLE) in Brockton, MA. The role focuses on daily living skills, community integration, and trauma-informed care within MAP guidelines.

You will teach ADLs, support treatment plans under clinicians, and assist with transportation and documentation, contributing to residents’ growth and independence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication skills in English and basic computer proficiency.
• Compassion, patience, and trauma-informed care.
• Experience in mental health settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach ADLs (cooking, budgeting, medication management) and socialization skills.
• Implement treatment plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance.
• Administer/supervise medications per MAP guidelines and document care.
• Transport residents to appointments and community activities.
• Advocate for residents’ needs and model healthy coping strategies.
• Maintain a safe, clean home environment and complete timely documentation.

Schedule: (40 hours) Friday - Tuesday 3pm-11pm

FLSA: Non Exempt

• Valid driver’s license and ability to assist with mobility (bending, standing, etc.).
• Strong communication skills (English) and basic computer proficiency.
• Compassion, patience, and a commitment to trauma-informed care.
• Bonus : Lived experience or multilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese).
