Job summary

Community Housing Innovations (CHI) in St. Johns-Central Islip, NY is hiring a part-time front desk and security associate. You will screen clients, conduct rounds, perform log entries, and assist with emergency procedures while maintaining a professional presence on site.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, 1–2 years of related experience, strong English communication, and basic computer skills. Bilingual abilities (Spanish) are a plus and overtime is available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of experience in a related field preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Basic computer skills including MS Windows, MS Office, and internet usage.

Responsibilities

• Maintain visibility to residents, staff, and visitors by wearing a safety monitor vest, ID badge, and professional attire.
• Screen all clients and visitors entering the facility.
• Perform bag searches upon intake and as required.
• Ensure clients abide by facility policies and procedures.
• De-escalate crisis situations and document interventions.
• Conduct rounds throughout the facility (hallways, stairs, floors, bathrooms, etc.).
• Complete logs, incident reports, and other required documentation.
• Perform administrative and receptionist duties at the front desk.
• Monitor video surveillance, fire alarms, and notification systems.
• Assist with fire drills and evacuations as needed.
• Assist with room preparation and turnover for new clients.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning and office supplies.
