Catholic Charities of New York is seeking a Residential Counselor in Staten Island to support residents in developing life skills and coping strategies within the Beacon of Hope Congregate Programs. The role emphasizes case management, crisis intervention, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The position is full-time and non-exempt, with flexible shifts and on-site duties. Candidates should have a high school diploma and experience with mental health populations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Experience helping individuals with serious mental illness or similar population.
• Security experience a plus (not mandatory).

Responsabilités

• Provide case management to assigned residents.
• Implement individual service plans to help residents achieve rehabilitation goals.
• Offer instruction and services in various daily living skills.
• Document services and interactions in resident records.
• Engage residents in goal setting and service evaluations.
• Provide ongoing counseling support as needed.
• Draft comprehensive service plans and involve residents in planning.
• Coordinate with external services (medical, dental, benefits, etc.).
• Manage incidents and minimize risk; notify program manager as needed.
• Collaborate with agency staff and external service providers.
• Attend required meetings and assist in maintaining program environment.
