Job summary

The Community Builders, Inc. invites applications for a Resident Specialist to deliver exceptional resident and guest service at our property site in Chicago.

You will show and lease apartments, assist with moving processes, and provide admin support to the Community/Services Maintenance Manager while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Ideal candidates have experience with Section 8 housing or LIHTC, are comfortable in a fast-paced office, and can work five days per week on site.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service with strong verbal and written communication in English.
• Ability to type at least 35 wpm with accuracy.
• Ability to learn and operate office systems including telephone, copier and computer systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook; familiarity with Yardi is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Show apartments and lease properties; provide superior customer service.
• Schedule appointments and conduct in-person visits as needed.
• Listen to resident requests and refer them appropriately.
• Develop relationships with residents to understand needs and build trust.
• Initiate maintenance service requests and follow up on completion.
• Process applications for approval and pre-qualify prospects.
• Conduct move-in condition inspections with the Service Management team.
• Manage rental payments and renewals; enter data into the tracking system.
