Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living in Richmond, VA is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Program Director in coordinating resident programs and social activities. You will help plan events, coordinate transportation, and maintain the community calendar to keep residents engaged and active.

The role requires prior experience with seniors, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently. A valid driver's license and comfortable use of digital tools are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with seniors and memory loss strongly preferred.
• Two years’ experience in activity planning for seniors preferred.
• Must have knowledge of social and psychological needs of residents.
• Ability to work without close supervision and follow verbal/written instructions.
• Prior driving allowed, clean driving record, and able to operate a large passenger van.
• Must be able to prioritize, manage time effectively and solve problems.
• Must have working knowledge of and be able to use technology.

Responsibilities

• Assist Program Director with planning, developing and preparing physical, social, recreational and educational events.
• Assist with transportation and resident outings.
• Assist with the production of the community monthly calendar.
• Assist in maintaining documentation and resident attendance through digital programs.
• Maintain knowledge of communities, services and events in the area and incorporate into activity schedule.
