Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living in Richmond, VA is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Resident Programs team by planning, coordinating and leading engaging activities that meet state requirements and promote residents' social and physical well-being.

You will provide transportation when needed, assist the Program Director, and help tailor daily events to residents’ interests while maintaining a warm, welcoming atmosphere and strong teamwork across disciplines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college experience preferred.
• Experience in a senior living environment strongly preferred.
• Two years’ experience in activities strongly preferred.
• Strong computer skills and general healthcare knowledge.
• Must have a clear and insurable driving record, and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Program team with planning, developing, and preparing activities.
• Conduct transportation and medical transportation for residents.
• Maintain knowledge of local communities, services, and events and incorporate into activity schedule as appropriate.
• Establish a warm and welcoming atmosphere for residents and staff.
• Promote teamwork and monitor/attend activities with other disciplines as necessary.
• Continually evaluate the quality and consistency of activities for residents and make adjustments as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned
