Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living at Charlottesville is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Resident Programs team in planning and delivering engaging activities for residents. The role includes organizing social, recreational, and educational events that meet state requirements and may involve transporting residents as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, experience in senior living, and strong computer and healthcare knowledge.

Qualifications

High school diploma required, college experience preferred but not required.
Experience in a senior living environment strongly preferred.
Two years of activities experience strongly preferred.
Strong computer skills and general healthcare knowledge.
Must have a clear, insurable driving record and a valid driver's license; willingness to drive a passenger van.

Responsibilities

Assist Resident Programs team with planning and preparing a variety of exercises, social and educational events.
Conduct transportation for residents, including medical transport.
Stay informed about local communities, services and events to incorporate into activity schedules.
Create a welcoming atmosphere for residents and staff.
Promote teamwork and monitor activities with other disciplines.
Continuously evaluate activity quality and make adjustments as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
