Job summary

University of Wisconsin—Stevens Point seeks a part-time Community Development Assistant (CDA) to live in a residence hall and support hall staff with creative materials and resident programs. The CDA will engage residents, attend trainings, and coordinate outreach with the Residence Hall Director to foster student development.

Qualifications

• Pass a Criminal Background Check, Misconduct Reference Check, and Position of Trust with vulnerable populations check.
• Available to work the full contracted date for the entire 2026-2027 academic year.
• Have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA at the start of employment.
• Experience living in a residence hall for more than 2 semesters.
• Enrolled as a full-time student at UWSP (12 credit minimum).
• Ability to think and create items creatively without minimizing messaging of items.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with hall staff in developing materials, strategies, and supporting social and hall programs, as specified by the Residence Hall Director (RHD).
• Attend hall activities and events as specified by the Residence Hall Director (RHD).
• Collaborate with hall staff in creating materials for community development efforts with things such as bulletin boards within the common spaces of the residence hall that are not Resident Assistant (RA) floor specific boards.
• Facilitate educational conversations with residents around the Department of Housing and Residence Life community standards and policies.
• Assist hall staff model a wellness lifestyle and teach students about the community development model through creative efforts such as bulletin boards, programs, etc.
