Qualifications

  • Passes a criminal background check.
  • Full-time student at UW-Stevens Point with at least twelve credits per semester.
  • Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA at start of employment (1.5 or lower may lead to rescission).
  • Must have lived in a residence hall or similar communal setting for at least two semesters prior to employment.
  • Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 and be in good conduct standing.
  • Must live in the assigned residence hall while the university is in session; assignment can change yearly.
  • Must attend required training and meet RHD approval for schedule and activities.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with hall staff to develop materials, strategies, and support social and hall programs.
  • Attend hall events and activities as directed by the Residence Hall Director (RHD).
  • Create community‑development materials such as bulletin boards in common spaces.
  • Facilitate educational conversations with residents about housing policies and community standards.
  • Model wellness lifestyle and teach students through creative efforts.
  • Encourage student ideas and involvement throughout the hall.
  • Maintain frequent communication with the RHD regarding programming plans and resident concerns.
  • Complete administrative tasks for hall staff programs (SPIN logistics, marketing, etc.).
  • Provide five office hours per week for administrative desk responsibilities.
  • Attend all weekly meetings scheduled by the RHD.
  • Conduct monthly health and safety checks of residence hall rooms and report issues to RHD.
  • Train, co‑supervise, and schedule front‑desk staff including Resident Assistants.
  • Plan and facilitate front‑desk staff meetings to share information, monitor processes, and provide feedback.
  • Provide co‑advising support for hall Program Board teams and organize events.
  • Meet regularly with Program Board members for training, discussion of upcoming events, and evaluation of activities.
  • Participate in and support meetings, trainings, and other activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality and convey accurate information regarding decisions and policies.
  • Serve as Campus Security Authority per the Cleary Act, reporting crimes and incidents per policy.
  • Report incidents of sexual assault to the Office of the Dean of Students and other required reporting slots.
  • Uphold FERPA and maintain confidentiality of student information.
  • Serve as Responsible Employee under TitleIX policies, reporting gender‑based discrimination incidents.
