Job summary

The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is seeking a part-time Community Development Assistant (CDA) within the Department of Housing and Residence Life. The CDA lives in the residence hall, promotes staff success through creativity and collaboration, and performs duties across programming and administration for a hall of 250–325 residents.

The role requires strong organizational skills, ability to train and supervise desk staff, and regular attendance at meetings and trainings.

Qualifications

• Criminal Background Check, Misconduct Reference Check, and Position of Trust with vulnerable populations check required.
• Available to work full contracted date for the entire academic year.
• Minimum 2.5 GPA at start of employment.
• Experience living in a residence hall for more than 2 semesters (or related communal living).
• Enrolled as a full-time student at UW-SP (12 credits minimum).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with hall staff to develop materials, strategies, and support social/hall programs.
• Attend hall activities and events as directed by the Residence Hall Director.
• Create materials for community development efforts (bulletin boards, spaces).
• Facilitate educational conversations about community standards and policies.
• Support hall staff by promoting wellness and community development through creative efforts.
