Job summary

PACS is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Activity Director in delivering an engaging activities program for residents. The role ensures activities align with assessments and residents’ physical, mental, and psychosocial needs while following all regulations and corporate standards.

The incumbent will help plan and run activities, maintain calendars, and coordinate transportation. Strong reading/comprehension, communication, and basic math are required; prior long-term care exposure

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
• Ability to read technical procedures.
• Ability to effectively present information to managers and staff.
• Math skills including fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions.

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning and conducting individual, small and large group activities.
• Assist in maintaining monthly activity calendars and attendance records.
• Assist in communication between staff, residents, families and the public.
• Assist in discharge planning and activity care plans.
• Arrange transportation for residents to appointments or outings.
• Encourage resident participation in self-initiated activities.
