Job summary

PACS is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Activity Director in running a creative and interactive activities program in a long-term care setting. The role emphasizes meeting residents' physical, mental, and psychosocial needs in line with applicable standards and guidelines.

The position focuses on assisting with planning, scheduling, and documenting activities, while ensuring effective communication among staff, residents, and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Preferable one-year experience in a long term care facility.
• Ability to read and follow technical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and conducting individual, small, and large group activities.
• Facilitate communication between staff, residents, families and agencies to meet resident needs.
• Help develop monthly activity calendars and maintain attendance records.
• Support discharge planning and activity care plans as directed by the Activities Director.
• Arrange transportation for residents when needed and coordinate activity schedules.
