Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design in Syracuse, NY seeks a Resident Engineer to join our Construction Engineering & Inspection team. You will lead inspection activities for bridge and highway projects, document work, and ensure adherence to NYSDOT specifications.

The role requires 5+ years of field experience, a Civil Engineering or Construction Management degree, and NICET certification. A valid driver's license and ability to work outdoors are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate or higher in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• 5+ years construction engineering/inspection experience.
• NICET certification or equivalent required.
• Experience with NYSDOT or municipal clients preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead inspectors or act as a solo inspector on bridge/highway projects.
• Oversee documentation: pay estimates, change orders, daily reports, quantities.
• Ensure work complies with NYSDOT specs.
• Coordinate project plans with company policies and make decisive decisions.
• Lead and mentor other inspectors on site.
