Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking Resident Engineers to join our Construction Engineering & Inspection team in Buffalo, NY. You will lead field inspections for bridge and highway projects and coordinate documentation, ensuring work aligns with NYSDOT specifications.

You will oversee estimates, change orders, daily reports, and meetings, while mentoring junior inspectors and collaborating with clients and contractors on a range of transportation projects in the region.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 10+ years of construction engineering/inspection experience required.
• Valid US driver’s license required.
• Leadership, decision making and attention to detail essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead inspectors or act as a solo inspector for bridge/highway construction inspection.
• Oversee documentation including pay estimates, change orders, daily reports, and meetings.
• Ensure work complies with NYSDOT specifications.
• Apply plans and company policies to the work; make decisive decisions.
• Coordinate site activities and resolve field issues.
• Mentor and direct other inspectors.
