Job summary
Boswell is seeking a Resident Engineer – Buildings for highway construction projects in Central New Jersey near the PNC Art Center. The role focuses on inspection of commercial and small-building work, coordination with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with plans, codes, and contract documents.
The ideal candidate has a civil engineering background, extensive field inspection experience, and the ability to read architectural, structural, MEP drawings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in civil engineering, construction management, architecture, or related field.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in building construction, inspection, or management.
- Experience with commercial/small-building projects and ability to interpret plans and specs.
Responsibilities
- Perform field inspections of commercial, institutional, and small-building projects.
- Monitor compliance with plans, codes, and project requirements.
- Review drawings, specs, and submittals to support field inspection activities.
- Document daily activities, site conditions, progress, deficiencies, and actions.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, architects, and clients; communicate findings.
