Job summary
Urban Engineers is seeking a seasoned Resident Engineer for major highway and bridge projects across New Jersey. You will lead the construction inspection team, manage costs, schedules, and quality, and drive project success.
You will oversee meetings, reviews, and pay estimates, resolve change orders, and mitigate potential claims. Candidates should have extensive inspection experience and a valid PE or NICET credential.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of construction inspection experience, including 3+ years as a Resident Engineer.
- NICET III or IV and/or a PE license
- Rutgers Traffic Control Coordinator (TCC) credential
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
- Lead the construction inspection team and drive results across cost, schedule, and quality.
- Lead project meetings, oversee shop drawing reviews, review and approve pay estimates.
- Resolve change orders, and help mitigate potential claims.
- From navigating unforeseen field conditions to keeping contractors, designers, and clients aligned, your judgment will move projects forward.
