Job summary

PACS is seeking an Activity Assistant in Lake Havasu City, AZ to help the Executive Director run a creative and interactive activities program that meets residents’ physical, mental, and psychosocial needs.

The role involves planning and conducting activities, coordinating calendars, and assisting with assessments, transportation and care plans while ensuring regulatory compliance and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferable one-year experience in a long term care facility.
• Ability to read technical procedures.
• Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to solve practical problems.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning and conducting of individual, small and large group activities.
• Assist in providing good communication between employees, residents, families, support personnel, and the public.
• Participate in community planning related to facility interests and resident needs.
• Assist in development of monthly activity calendar and attendance records.
• Assist in action plans to correct identified quality deficiencies as requested by Activities Director.
• Participate in discharge planning and activity care plans for residents.
