Job summary

PACS Group is hiring an Activity Assistant to support the Activity Director in delivering a creative, interactive activities program for residents. This role ensures programs meet regulatory standards and address each resident's physical, mental, and psychosocial needs.

The position emphasizes teamwork with staff, families, and external agencies while coordinating monthly activity calendars and attendance. A high school diploma is required and prior long-term care exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferable one-year experience in a long term care facility.
• Ability to read technical procedures and policy manuals.

Responsibilities

• Participate in planning and conducting individual, small and large group activities.
• Assist in providing good communication between employees at all levels, residents, families, support personnel, government agencies and the public.
• Assist in development of monthly activity calendar and maintaining attendance records.
• Assist in the Quality Assurance and Assessment Committee in developing and implementing plans of action to correct identified quality deficiencies.
• Participate in discharge planning and development of activity care plans and resident assessments.
• Assist in arranging transportation for residents when necessary.
• Assist in developing a monthly activity schedule including outings and in-room activities for bed-bound or isolated residents.
• Encourage residents to participate in self-initiated activities such as hobbies, crafts, and reading.
