Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living is seeking a part-time Dining Services Associate to assist the Dining Services Director in delivering a signature dining program for residents. The role emphasizes friendly, responsive service and alignment with our core values to create a memorable dining experience.

The position requires food service experience, a Food Handlers certificate or equivalent, and the ability to read and write English.

Qualifications

• Certification in the Food Handlers Course or equivalent.
• Previous experience in the food service industry.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Willingness and ability to learn new tasks.
• Must be available to work varied shifts and weekends.
• Ability to lift heavy objects; stand and walk short distances; tolerate heat.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals to residents in a safe, sanitary manner.
• Be familiar with HACCP and WHMIS principles.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment through proper hygiene and safe work habits.
• Serve attractive, nutritious meals in a respectful manner, mindful of residents' needs.
• Operate and clean equipment, following schedules and safety procedures.
• Prepare dining rooms daily: set tables, pour beverages, clear dishes.
• Receive stock and store it according to procedures.
• Follow cleaning procedures when equipment is unavailable.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Dining Services Director.
