Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living at South Boston is seeking a Dining Services Associate to support the Dining Services Director in delivering a signature dining program for residents. You will provide friendly, responsive service and help maintain a safe, sanitary dining environment that respects resident needs.

This full-time role requires flexibility with shifts (11am-7pm or 6am-2pm) and weekends, and the ability to read and write English.

Qualifications

• Certification in the Food Handlers Course or equivalent.
• Previous experience in the food service industry.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Willingness and ability to learn new tasks.
• Must be available to work varied shifts and weekends.
• Ability to lift heavy objects; stand and walk short distances throughout the day.
• Must be free of communicable diseases.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals to residents safely and sanitary.
• Be familiar with HACCP and WHMIS.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and practice safe work habits.
• Serve attractive, nutritious meals in a pleasant, respectful manner.
• Operate and maintain department equipment and clean as scheduled.
• Prepare dining rooms daily: set tables, pour beverages, clear dishes.
• Store stock upon receipt following procedures.
• Follow cleaning procedures when mechanical equipment is unavailable.
• Performs other duties as directed by the Dining Services Director.
• Other duties as assigned.
