Job summary

The Dining Services Associate at Commonwealth Senior Living at South Boston assists the Dining Services Director in creating and delivering the signature dining program for residents. You will provide friendly, responsive service to ensure a memorable dining experience while upholding our core values in every interaction.

You will work in a team to prepare nutritious meals, maintain HACCP/WHMIS awareness, and keep a clean, safe kitchen and dining area with varied shifts, including weekends.

Qualifications

• Certification in the Food Handlers Course or equivalent.
• Previous experience in the food service industry.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Willingness and ability to learn new tasks
• Must be available to work varied shifts and weekends.
• Ability to lift heavy objects; stand and walk short distances throughout the day. Ability to tolerate heat from the kitchen.
• Must be free of communicable diseases.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals to residents in a safe sanitary manner.
• Be familiar with HACCP and WHMIS.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment with proper habits.
• Serve meals in a pleasant, respectful manner.
• Practice safe equipment usage and sanitation per schedules.
• Prepare dining rooms daily: set tables, pour beverages, clear dishes.
• Receive stock and store properly.
• Follow cleaning procedures when power is unavailable.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Dining Services Director.
• Other duties as assigned.
