Job summary

Commonwealth Senior Living is seeking a Dining Services Associate to assist the Dining Services Director in delivering a signature dining program for residents. You will provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience and support HACCP/WHMIS compliance.

Responsibilities include preparing meals, maintaining a clean kitchen, serving residents respectfully, and handling stock and sanitation tasks.

Qualifications

• Certification in the Food Handlers Course or equivalent.
• Previous experience in the food service industry.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Willingness and ability to learn new tasks.
• Must be available to work varied shifts and weekends.
• Ability to lift heavy objects; stand and walk short distances throughout the day. Ability to tolerate heat from the kitchen.
• Must be free of communicable diseases.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals to residents in a safe sanitary manner in accordance with Public Health Regulations, and in compliance with Sanitation Code.
• Be familiar with HACCP, WHMIS.
• Responsible for a clean, safe working environment and maintaining this with safe work habits, hand washing, and routine cleaning.
• Serve attractive, nutritious meals in a pleasant, respectful manner, mindful of residents’ needs.
• Practice safe usage of all equipment and clean, sanitize and maintain equipment as per schedules.
• Prepare the dining rooms daily: set tables, pour beverages, clear and clean dishes.
• Receive stock and store according to procedures.
• Follow cleaning procedures when mechanical equipment is not available.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Dining Services Director.
• Other duties as assigned
