Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a Cook for our Delaware community. The Cook prepares meals according to approved menus and recipes, supervises dietary staff when the Dining Services Director is unavailable, and ensures a clean, safe kitchen environment for residents and staff.

Responsibilities include portion control, temperature monitoring, proper food storage, and coordinating substitutions with approval.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in dining services.
• Serv-Safe certification or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Basic understanding of food service operations.
• Ability to read, write, and perform simple calculations.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and handle temperature extremes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to approved menus and recipes.
• Supervise dietary staff in absence of Dining Services Director.
• Maintain a clean, orderly kitchen and safe food handling practices.
• Monitor temperatures and temperatures of refrigerators/freezers; record temps as required.
• Coordinate menu substitutions with approval from Dining Services Director.
• Attend in-service trainings and staff meetings.
