Job summary

Harmony Senior Services seeks a dedicated Cook to prepare meals for residents at the Moon Township community, following approved menus and recipes and considering special dietary needs. You will also supervise dietary staff in the absence of the Dining Services Director and help maintain a safe, clean kitchen throughout the shift.

The role emphasizes teamwork, compliance with sanitation standards, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in dining services.
• Must be Serv-Safe certified, or willing to complete certification within 60 days of hire.
• Must have a basic understanding of food service operations including familiarity with other dietary position duties.
• Must possess the ability to read, write, and make simple calculations.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present menu items according to standard recipes.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times.
• Participate in weekly cleaning routines planned by Dining Services Director.
• Report faulty equipment and items to supervisor.
• Take and record food temperatures three times daily.
• Ensure kitchen is ready for meal service.
• Supervise dietary staff in absence of Dining Services Director.
• Assist in training new dietary employees.
• Attend required in-services and staff meetings.
• Familiarize with residents' dietary needs and preferences.
