Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Mount Juliet, Tennessee is seeking a Resident Assistant/Personal Care Aide to provide quality care and assist residents with daily living activities. You will report incidents, follow policies, and support residents with mobility, meals, and activities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism; a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays is required.

CPR/First Aid certification or willingness within 60 days is expected, and you will work as part of

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed an approved personal care aide program per state regulations.
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
• Must be a contributing member of the nursing team and follow the supervisor's instructions.
• Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times.
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
• Must lift 50 lbs and push or carry 25 lbs.
• Must lift and transfer residents safely with proper body mechanics.
• Must wear designated uniform during working hours, including name badge.
• Must be CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Must represent the community positively and professionally.
• Must attend required in-services and staff meetings.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Reports incidents involving residents to include care concerns or issues to appropriate individuals.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living and performs housekeeping duties as directed.
• Responds promptly to all resident calls for assistance or emergency alerts.
• Remains calm and competent during emergencies.
• Assists in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Follows confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information.
• Assists residents to and from the dining room and activities.
• Checks on residents, ensures attendance at meals and activities.
• Checks on residents who are ill and reports status or concerns.
• Communicates status, upcoming information, appointments, admissions, and transfers.
• Assists new residents with move-in transitions and provides emotional support.
• Other duties as assigned.
