Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is hiring a Resident Assistant/Personal Care Aide (PCA) in Mount Juliet, TN. The role supports residents with daily living activities, coordinates with nursing staff, and helps plan activities while maintaining safety and confidentiality.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of an approved PCA program. CPR/First Aid certification is required or must be obtained within 60 days of hire. Flexible scheduling includes weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an approved PCA program per state regulations.
• Effective verbal and written communication required.
• Organized and able to work with all levels of personnel.
• Contributes to nursing team and follows supervisor instructions.
• Polite and considerate toward residents, visitors, and coworkers.
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Must lift 50 lbs and push or carry 25 lbs.
• Ability to safely lift and transfer residents with proper body mechanics.
• Wears designated uniform during working hours, including name badge.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or willing to obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Represents the community positively and professionally.
• Attends and completes required in-services and staff meetings.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Report incidents and care concerns to appropriate staff (e.g., HCD, RN/LPN, ED).
• Maintain working knowledge of all policies and procedures for the position.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Perform housekeeping duties in resident areas and common spaces.
• Respond promptly to resident calls and emergency alerts.
• Remain calm and competent during emergencies.
• Assist in planning and conducting resident activity programs.
• Follow confidentiality policies regarding resident information.
• Assist residents to dining room and activities, and check attendance and meal status.
• Report illness status or concerns to appropriate individuals.
• Communicate verbally and in writing about resident status, appointments, admissions, and transfers.
• Help new residents with move-in transition and provide emotional support.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
