Job summary

Chelsea Retirement Community in Chelsea, MI is seeking a dedicated Resident Care Assistant for full‑time 40 hours/week. The role involves providing daily care, companionship, and creating a warm environment for residents.

You will join a team that values compassionate, person‑centered care and strives to support residents with dignity and respect. The position requires lifting up to 35 lbs, ability to assist with ADLs, and preference for EMAR familiarity.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Direct caregiving experience preferred but not required.
• Must be able to safely lift, push, pull, and carry up to a minimum of 35 lbs.
• Previous working knowledge of EMAR system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide Hands-On Care – Assist with personal care (ADLS) like bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Support Mealtime – Help residents enjoy their meals and stay hydrated for good health.
• Keep Things Moving – Support mobility, including turning, positioning, and safe transfers.
• Perform Vital Checks – Measure and record vital signs, weight, and intake/output.
• Maintain Comfort & Care – Keep rooms tidy, cozy, and well‑stocked with essentials.
• Provide Responsive Support – Answer call lights quickly and respond with kindness and compassion.
• Monitor with Watchful Eyes – Report any changes in conditions to the leadership ASAP.
• Demonstrate Respect & Professionalism – Maintain confidentiality while delivering top‑notch care.

Schedule: Full time | 40 hours/week | 6:30am-3pm | Weekend & Holiday Rotation, Required | No Scheduling Mandation

Shift Premiums: 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm $1.00 | 10:31 pm - 7:00 am $0.75 | Weekend (Fri 10:31 pm - Sun 11:00 pm) $1.00

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Experience in a direct caregiving role preferred but not required.
