Job summary

Porter Hills Village is seeking a part-time Resident Care Assistant for the 2nd shift in Grand Rapids, MI. You will provide compassionate personal care and support residents in memory care and assisted living areas.

This role offers a $500 sign-on bonus for the 2nd shift, a schedule of 2pm–10:15pm, and weekend premiums. Prior caregiver experience and ability to lift up to 35 pounds are valued.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Previous caregiver experience preferred.
• Experience with ADLs preferred.
• Position requires ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance.
• EMAR system experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on care including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Assist with meals and hydration for residents.
• Support mobility and safe transfers.
• Measure and record vital signs and intake/output.
• Keep rooms tidy, cozy, and well-stocked with essentials.
• Respond to call lights promptly with kindness.
• Report changes in conditions to leadership promptly.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct.

Compensation: $17.51 - $19.64 / hour

Description

$500 sign on bonus for 2nd shift!

Schedule: Part-time, 19 hours per week | 2nd shift, 2pm - 10:15pm | Varies Monday - Friday, every other weekend | No scheduling mandation

Shift Premiums: Weekend (Fri 11:00 pm - Sun 10:59 pm) 0.50

What You'll Do:

As a Resident Care Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in enriching the lives of our residents by providing compassionate personal care, supporting daily activities, and offering essential assistance in our assisted living and memory care areas. Your dedication will help create a safe, warm, and nurturing environment where residents feel valued, supported, and at home.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Hands-On Care - Assist with personal care (ADLS) like bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Support Mealtime- Help residents enjoy their meals and stay hydrated for good health.
• Keep Things Moving - Support mobility, including turning, positioning, and safe transfers.
• Perform Vital Checks - Measure and record vital signs, weight, and intake/output.
• Maintain Comfort & Care - Keep rooms tidy, cozy, and well-stocked with essentials.
• Provide Responsive Support - Answer call lights quickly and respond with kindness and compassion.
• Monitor with Watchful Eyes - Report any changes in conditions to the leadership ASAP.
• Demonstrate Respect & Professionalism - Maintain confidentiality while delivering top-notch care.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Previous experience in a caregiver role, preferred.
• Experience with ADLs, preferred.
• Position requires the ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance.
• Previous working knowledge of Electronic Medication Administration Records (EMAR) system, preferred.
