Job summary

Chelsea Retirement Community in Chelsea, MI is seeking a Part-Time Medication Technician for the 2nd shift (2:30pm-11:00pm). You will administer medications, assist with ADLs, and support residents in a team-oriented environment.

Experience in healthcare with seniors is preferred. The role includes shift premiums and opportunities for career growth within the assisted living department.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in medical assisting or related field a plus.
• Experience: Healthcare setting preferred, especially with seniors or in long-term care.
• Physical requirements: Lift/move up to 35 pounds independently.
• Technical skills: Familiarity with EMAR systems is a plus.
• Medication administration: At least 1 year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer Medications & Treatments – Pass medications and provide treatments safely according to care plans.
• Provide Hands-On Care – Assist residents with ADLs such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Support Mealtime – Help residents enjoy meals and stay hydrated.
• Promote Mobility – Assist with turning, positioning, and safe transfers.
• Perform Vital Checks – Measure and record vital signs, weight, and intake/output.
• Maintain Comfort & Care – Keep rooms tidy and stocked with essentials.
• Respond to Resident Needs – Answer call lights promptly and provide compassionate support.
• Monitor Resident Conditions – Report changes to leadership promptly.
• Demonstrate Respect & Professionalism – Maintain confidentiality while delivering care.

Schedule: Part time | 16 hours/week | 2:30pm-11:00pm | Weekend & Holiday Rotation, Required| No Scheduling Mandation

Shift Premiums: 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm $1.00 | 10:31 pm - 7:00 am $0.75 | Weekend (Fri 10:31 pm - Sun 11:00 pm) $1.00

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in medical assisting or a related field is a plus.
• Experience: Prior experience in a healthcare setting, especially working with seniors or in long-term care, is highly preferred.
• Physical requirements: Must be able to lift and move up to 35 pounds independently.
• Technical skills: Familiarity with Electronic Medication Administration Records (EMAR) systems is a plus.
• Medication administration: At least one year of experience administering medications in a healthcare setting is preferred.
