Job summary

Alta Rehab at Wauconda seeks an Activity Assistant/Aide to assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating activity programs for residents in accordance with care plans and supervisor direction. Responsibilities include preparing activity spaces, supporting crafts and visits, purchasing supplies, maintaining confidentiality, and promoting residents' physical, social, and emotional well-being.

A positive, patient approach and strong English communication are essential.

Qualifications

Experience in Long Term Care Activities Department preferred.
Patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing & evaluating activity programs and quality assurance for the Activities Department.
Develop and maintain rapport with other departments to ensure daily activities run smoothly.
Prepare activity rooms and procure equipment and supplies for activities.
Support in cleaning activity areas after functions.
Follow care plans when providing daily activities for residents.
Purchase department supplies, clothing and personal items for residents.
Maintain confidentiality of all resident information and treat residents with dignity.
Oversee residents in scheduled activities to promote physical, social, and mental well-being.
Assist residents in-room by visiting, writing letters, running errands, and helping with crafts.
