Job summary

Aperion Care in St. Charles, IL, seeks an Activity Assistant/Aide to support planning, implementing, and evaluating resident programs across recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual activities, aligned with care plans and supervisor direction.

You will work closely with other departments, prepare activity spaces, monitor resident engagement, document progress, and help maintain a warm, respectful environment while safeguarding resident privacy.

Qualifications

• Experience in Long Term Care Activities Department preferred.
• Patience, tact, cheerful disposition & enthusiasm required.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing & evaluating activity programs and quality assurance for the Activities Department.
• Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and involvement; document progress.
• Maintain rapport with other departments to ensure activities run smoothly and create a warm, calm environment.
• Prepare activity rooms/areas for scheduled programs and recommend equipment or supply needs.
• Follow the care plan when providing daily activities and assist in resident engagement.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information and handle it per guidelines.
• Oversee residents during activities to promote physical, social, and mental well-being.
• Assist in-room residents with visits, crafts, letters, and errands as needed.
