Job summary

Eastern Healthcare Group seeks an Activities Assistant to help plan, organize, and direct a comprehensive program of activities for residents in a long-term care facility. You will support entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and expression while assisting families in exploring suitable avocations and leisure pursuits.

You will work primarily indoors in a long-term care setting, coordinating with healthcare staff, residents, and volunteers to provide meaningful activities and meet the residents'

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential.
• Experience in coordinating volunteers and events preferred.
• Ability to plan, organize, and direct activity programs within a facility.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing activity programs to meet residents' needs.
• Coordinate and verify assistance for activities and events.
• Create and maintain monthly activity calendars and resident room calendars.
• Maintain records of activity programs and participation per regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain a volunteer program and train volunteers.
• Prepare progress notes for medical staff on residents' reactions and progress.
• Attend in-service education to meet facility requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.
