Job summary

Alden Des Plaines Rehabilitation and Health Care Center is seeking an Activities Assistant to support the daily activity calendar under the supervision of the Activity Director. The role focuses on delivering a resident-centered program that enhances quality of life while adhering to state and federal regulations.

You will read and interpret activity regulations, interact empathetically with residents and families, and assist with planning, coordination, and documentation of activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of experience in healthcare, volunteering, or working with disabled populations.
• Knowledge of Federal and State activity regulations or ability to understand them.
• Must be able to read and write English.
• Bi-lingual abilities are preferred depending on facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily activity calendar support as directed by the Activity Director.
• Follow the Activity Program’s mission, policies, and state/federal regulations.
• Maintain quality of life for residents, addressing psychosocial and activity needs.
• Support documentation and communication with residents, families, and staff.
• Assist in planning, scheduling, and leading resident activities and outings.
