Job summary

African American Planning Commission in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a House Manager to operate under Program Director guidance and ensure daily center security and service standards are met.

You will oversee front desk coverage, conduct rounds, monitor safety and logs, and coordinate with Security and Facilities staff. Evening/weekend shifts may be required; base salary is $42,000 with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Degree requirement: High School diploma or equivalency and at least 21 years of age.
• Knowledgeable and trained on Fire Panel use.
• Valid Certified Fire Safety Coordinator License (F80, S95) with at least one year experience in security.
• Knowledgeable with working with special needs client populations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure front desk coverage.
• Patrol premises to prevent intrusion and ensure security.
• Conduct hourly rounds to ensure safety of tenants, employees and visitors.
• Check floors, stairwells and exits; report problems when needed.
• Authorize entrance and departure of persons to guard against theft.
• Maintain visitor sign-in and shift log; respond to alarms.
• Write daily activity reports and irregularities.
• Call police or fire department in emergencies.
