Job summary

The African American Planning Commission seeks a Shift Supervisor to provide 24-hour security coverage at the Brooklyn facility. You will lead a team of Residential Aides, coordinate floor posts, and ensure safety for staff and residents.

Responsibilities include training staff, coaching, documenting incidents, and maintaining regulatory compliance with DHS and local agencies. Base salary is shown with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related field with 2–3 years of related setting experience.
• High school diploma or equivalency with 3–4 years of related shelter experience.
• Supervisory experience managing a team of 4–8 members.
• Residential Aide work experience for at least 2 years with progressive responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee facility operations including emergencies.
• Supervise and train Residential Aides.
• Coordinate floor posts and meal breaks for Residential Aides.
• Participate in operation department’s team meetings.
• Provide coaching and one-on-one supervision as directed by the Program Director.
• Register new clients and ensure mandated documentation is completed.
• Ensure access control, surveillance, and regulatory compliance.
