Job summary

Independent Living Association NYC is seeking a Residence Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations of the residences, ensuring safety and sanitation and coordinating support services. You will supervise Direct Care Counselors, Cook and Maintenance staff and provide training to facility staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience with the DD population.
• Valid Driver’s license required.
• Computer literate with strong verbal and written skills.
• Ability to multi-task and remain detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Direct Care Counselors, Cook and Maintenance staff; ensure staff training.
• Manage residence in the absence of the Residence Supervisor and report to the Area Coordinator.
• Handle employee relations and conflict resolution.
• Ensure safety and sanitation in the residences and that adequate support services are maintained.
• Complete performance evaluations of union staff with the Supervisor.
• Attend job fairs/open houses with Recruitment Specialist.
• Participate in progressive disciplinary program administration and suspensions/terminations.
• Oversee payroll and staff vacation coverage; approve/deny vacation based on coverage.
• Provide emergency residence coverage as needed.
• Partner with Residence Supervisor to conduct fire drills.
