Job summary

The Independent Living Association (ILA) in Staten Island, NY seeks an Assistant Residence Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations of residences. The role involves supervising staff, ensuring safety and sanitation, and coordinating support services for Individuals together with direct care staff.

Requirements include a high school diploma (associate's preferred), a valid driver's license, and 2 years of supervisory experience with the DD population.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience with the DD population.
• Valid Driver’s license required.
• Must be computer literate and detail-oriented.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Direct Care Counselors, Cook and Maintenance personnel and provide training.
• Manage residence in absence of Residence Supervisor and report to Area Coordinator.
• Oversee employee relations and resolve staff issues; assist with disciplinary processes.
• Ensure safety and sanitation in residences and maintain vendor/supplier services.
• Complete performance evaluations and participate in staffing and hiring activities.
• Handle payroll and approve/disapprove staff vacation with coverage planning.
• Provide emergency coverage as needed and conduct fire drills with Supervisor.
• Oversee accounts, petty cash and vendor invoicing; monitor van log and logistics.
• Plan individual community inclusion activities and maintain a calendar with regular inclusions.
