Job summary

Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. seeks a Construction Technician to join the Customer Engineering team. The role is residence-based with 75% travel across the southern US; base in NC or northern SC.

You will install cryogenic storage systems, read drawings, and supervise crane operations while maintaining rigorous safety standards. You will work independently with strong communication skills, handling equipment installation, startup support, and customer training as part of project management

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Trade/technical degree or apprenticeship preferred.
• Ability to pass a service/pickup truck road test and DOT physical.
• Flexibility to travel 75%.
• Valid driver''s license; Class A CDL preferred but not required.
• Safety-focused with high standards for field work.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics.
• Lift supervision experience for crane operations.

Responsibilities

• Install product storage, processing, and delivery equipment at customer sites, including cryogenic tanks, pumps, and piping.
• Demonstrate high safety performance at customer sites and while driving company vehicle.
• Practice safe rigging and lifting procedures; supervise crane contractors as Lift Supervisor.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, flow sheets, and control schematics.
• Provide cost reporting for materials and labor; manage project scope and documentation.
• Interact with customers professionally and manage coordination with contractors.
